Drywall repair in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Castle Rock is mostly newer construction, and newer construction has its own signature failures: nail pops on the second floor, seam cracks over the great room, and hairlines at the corners of tall openings as the house finishes settling.

What Castle Rock houses tend to throw at us

Predominantly 1990s through current build-out, with light to medium orange peel as the standard wall texture and a lot of two-story volume space where repairs happen well above reach.

Which matters, because the repair method follows the wall. Texture density, whether the surface is drywall or plaster, and how much the structure moves seasonally all change how a patch has to be worked to stay invisible.

Jobs that come up here

  • Nail pops across upstairs hallways in newer builds
  • Access cuts closed after builder-warranty plumbing work

Questions

Drywall repair in Castle Rock, answered.

My house is only a few years old. Why is the drywall already cracking?

That is normal and not a defect in most cases. A new house dries out and settles for the first couple of years, and the drywall shows it at the weakest points — over window and door headers, at seams above tall openings, and along the ceiling line. It is worth repairing once the movement has mostly finished.

The damage is on a two-story wall I cannot reach. Is that a problem?

No, high work in volume spaces is routine in Castle Rock and the rest of Douglas County. It just needs to be scoped honestly up front, because reaching a repair twenty feet up affects setup time more than the repair itself does.

Why does texture matching matter so much?

Because texture is what your eye reads first. A patch can be perfectly flat and still announce itself if the orange peel around it is heavier, or the knockdown is flatter, or the surface is smooth where the wall has a subtle spatter. Matching it is the difference between a repair and a patch.

Do you paint after the repair?

We leave the repair paint-ready — primed where it needs to be, textured to match, and cleaned up. Painting is a separate trade. If you want the area painted too, mention it early so we can talk through what it takes to avoid a visible touch-up square.

Send three photos and we’ll tell you what it takes.

Straight on, a few feet back, and one from the side with a light held flat against the surface. That last one shows the texture, which is what the estimate really hinges on.
